Nucleus will fully integrate all assets of UofL, including life sciences, with those of the region to leverage their strengths for University academic enrichment and for community economic development.
Our vision is the transformation of life science concepts from the mind to the logistics of the marketplace to improve the physical and economic health of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Nucleus Understands Business
As the innovation center and economic development arm of the University of Louisville Foundation, Nucleus understands business and nurtures start-up companies from the mind to the marketplace. Our mission is to capitalize on Louisville's already stellar reputation by ensuring that all of the necessary components are in place to make the city a thriving hub of research and innovation.
Our world class research parks and facilities, located throughout Jefferson County and including our new centralized Nucleus Innovation Park Downtown, are one of our top priorities. They are built to accommodate wet and dry labs, office and meeting space and state of the art technology, and are priced competitively. Nucleus has the flexibility to fit your needs, affordably.
Upon arriving, Nucleus tenants are able to take advantage of a wide variety of services, at little or no additional cost. This includes everything from shared conferencing space to access to the University's numerous technological assets and resources.
Once a part of our Nucleus Innovation Parks, tenants are able to take advantage of our strong network of funding opportunities and connections. Nucleus tenants have received more than $5 million in commercialization grants in recent years, and that number is growing.
Together, these components create one of the strongest incubator environments in the area. We invite you to read more about us, and come see what we have to offer.

Nucleus Drives Innovation
Nucleus isn't just a place. Nucleus is an ecosystem of resources and connections for start-up companies. It is a support-based environment where scientists and researchers come together to commercialize ideas and create economic success stories.
We have many facets. Our tenants and partnerships capture a diversity of fields, including healthcare, lifelong wellness and aging care, engineering, energy, applied sciences, information technology, life sciences, medical devices, logistics, nanotechnology and advanced manufacturing, among many others. No matter your area of expertise, Nucleus can find a home for you.
In addition to our state of the art research parks and facilities, Nucleus also aims to assist our tenants in the commercialization of their research by guiding their ideas from the mind to the marketplace. We do this by offering such programs as the Kauffman FastTrac TechVenture program. Designed specifically for budding entrepreneurs with technology-based business opportunities, this 10-week course in concept analysis and business plan development is led by some of the area's top business executives and thought leaders.
To continue growing and diversifying our ecosystem, recruitment is always a priority at Nucleus. We want to bring strong business ventures in the research and innovation fields into the Nucleus Innovation Parks. More business ventures in Louisville mean more jobs and economic growth for our city, and Nucleus is honored to play a key role in making Louisville a better place for everyone to call home.
Finally, Nucleus works to create a seamless continuum to connect the University of Louisville and the business community. Our partnerships with the University and businesses allow access to world class expertise and resources across the spectrum of commercialization.
We appreciate your interest in Nucleus, and please contact me with any questions.
