As an entity, Nucleus' work is integral to the development of the research park currently underway at UofL's Haymarket 30-block property in downtown Louisville. In this role, Nucleus is creating a vibrant technology business district at Haymarket along the city's Healthcare / University / Riverfront corridor.

"Kentucky Entrepreneur" Segment on KET

Louisville business legend David Jones will be featured in the first “Kentucky Entrepreneur” segment on KET channels beginning Monday, October 14th.  “Kentucky Entrepreneur”, sponsored by Nucleus: Kentucky’s Innovation Center, showcases top Kentucky entrepreneurs and businesspeople sharing their “how I did it” stories with entrepreneurs.  In the hour-long program, Jones talks about the $1000 investment that led to his co-founding Humana Corp. and what he did right and wrong along the way.  The dates and times of “Kentucky Entrepreneur: Humana’s David Jones”: Monday, Oct. 14 at 2 a.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 17  at 9 a.m.; Sunday, Oct. 20  at 2 p.m.

Registration closed for LaunchIt

Our Spring 2014 LaunchIt Training Program has begun. Classes will meet on Tuesday evenings beginning February 25 through April 29 from 6-9 p.m. at The Nucleus. Our next class will be in the Fall 2014.

VetStart Registration Closed

The Spring 2014 VetStart application process is closed; five veterans were selected to participate in the Spring 2014 LaunchIt program and receive startup funds. Thanks to Toyota for their financial support of VetStart.

The Nucleus Grand Opening ~ October 23rd

Join us for the Grand Opening of The Nucleus, 300 E. Market Street, to be held on Wednesday, October 23rd at 10 a.m. University of Louisville President James Ramsey, Governor Beshear and Mayor Fischer will be in attendance; we expect several exciting announcements. The Nucleus is the first of four planned research, technology and office buildings; with 200,000 sq. ft. of eco-friendly office, dry lab and innovation space, the eight-story building will be home to one of Louisville’s economic development clusters—lifelong wellness and aging.

Nucleus Vendor List

We are piloting a Nucleus Vendor list on our website for companies that perform services for start-up and early stage companies.  Vendors on this list, which will be accessible to Nucleus tenants and entrepreneurs in our LaunchIt program, will be required to offer a discounted service in order to participate.  For additional information and to participate in this pilot program, please contact Mary Tapolsky at 569-2059 or
